Esther vividly remembers how learning French from the age of 11 captured her interest in languages. She loved them so much that she spent her gap year after school working in France and Spain. 

She subsequently studied Russian and Spanish (and some French) at the University of Leeds. 

Following graduation, she worked at the university in a role that promoted languages in secondary schools, encouraging young people to continue studying languages. She was interested in what motivates or demotivates people when learning a new language. 

Inspired by the many schools she visited and the amazing language teachers she met, she later decided to train as a Spanish and French teacher and qualified in 2018. 

A few years later, Esther became Head of Language Acquisition at an international school in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and also taught Spanish and French to a wide range of ages, as well as working for a year as Director of Studies at the school. 

Now back in the UK, Esther is giving all of her time to helping language learners through Language Up. Esther teaches French, Spanish and Russian as well as providing language mentoring services.

She enjoys walking the hills of the beautiful northeast, and running the paths of local parks and streets.
